Follow the ApplyTexas welcome screens to get started. First, you will take the application screener to see a list of schools and application types. You will see application types available for you to use based on your screener results.

How do I know what application to apply for?



You do not need to have an account to see a list of schools you can apply to on ApplyTexas. Once you create an account, you can start saving and applying to schools you like.

You will also see an academic fit tag, telling you if it&#8217;s a safety school, match school, or reach school. Your answers on the build a school list screen determine the fit.



Can I explore schools before applying?

You cannot submit a resume on ApplyTexas. Instead, include work experience, volunteer experience, activities, and achievements in your Core Questions. Some of these sections may be optional depending on your application type.

Can I submit a resume with my application?

Most schools need your official transcripts and test scores. If you graduated from a public high school in Texas, you will be able to request your transcript when you complete your ApplyTexas application. If you graduated from a private high school in Texas, a school outside of Texas, or you have college credits, you will need to send these transcripts separate from your application in ApplyTexas. You will also need to request your test scores be sent separate from your application in ApplyTexas. Confirm requirements with the school where you intend to apply.

Do I need to send in my transcript and/or test scores?

You cannot submit a letter of recommendation through ApplyTexas. You may be able to send letters of recommendation to the school you&#8217;re interested in. Confirm requirements with the school where you intend to apply.

Can I submit a letter of recommendation through ApplyTexas?

It may take up to two days for schools to receive your application once you apply. After that, you can check with the school you applied to for an update. I submitted my application...why haven't I received confirmation from the school I applied to?

Getting denied admission to a college or university may leave you with a lot of questions. You may feel frustrated, angry, confused, and even a little bit lost. Setbacks happen, but what you do next can help shape your future. So, what can you do if you get documents that may help the admission office get a be denied? 
Submit additional support documents. If the admission deadline at the college or university where you applied has not passed, you may have the option to have your admission decision reconsidered. Contact the office of admissions to find out what their policies are related to submitting additional supporting documents. You may be able to send an updated transcript if your rank has changed, new SAT or ACT scores, or other ideas of why you might be a good fit for their college or university.   
Consider other colleges or universities. Each college or university sets its own admission criteria, so getting denied admission from one school may not mean that you will be denied to all. Consider alternative colleges or universities with programs that meet your needs and apply! You can even explore transfer options from a community college. Be sure to check deadlines and admission requirements to ensure that your application is considered, and you put your best foot forward. Explore pathway programs. Many four-year universities that have selective admission for their school or specific programs work with community colleges or other schools within their system to create pathway programs. These pathway programs are offered to students that do not meet admission criteria upon initial application review but may transfer to the school or program after successful completion of the pathway program. Contact the admission office to find out if this may be an option for you.

What do I do if I’m denied admission?

If your institution accepts scholarships through ApplyTexas, you will see an option to apply when submitting your admissions application. If your institution does not accept scholarship applications through ApplyTexas, visit their website to learn more about scholarship opportunities.

How do I know if my institution uses the scholarship application?

No, you can only apply for scholarships for the semester of entry that you have chosen on your admissions application.

I want to apply for scholarships for a semester that is different than the semester of entry on my admissions application. Can I do that? 

You may still be able to apply for scholarships if your application information changes. Some changes, like changing your major, may limit the scholarships available to you. Contact the financial aid office at the institution where you intend to apply to learn about all scholarship opportunities.

Can I still apply for scholarships if my application information has changed?
